Just for keeping up with what is going on and the answer to why I don't have time for a personal life.

Art at the Pom
Now that I have decided to sell the Pomegranate Inn, I need to decide which pieces of art will go with the inn and which will come with me. Two definites to come with me are the Frederick Lynch and the Eric Hopkins.

Captain Lindsey House in Rockland
Went to Rockland today to visit with Ellen at Captain Lindsey House. This is one of my favorite inns. I LOVE an inn that is in town, easy walk to restaurants etc. and has a little bit of outside space, not enough to have to worry about... This is perfect. The back garden is like being in a high end walled garden in NYC knowing that right on the other side are tons of things to do. How I resist buying this Inn for myself is a wonder........ AND Rockland has got to be one of the coolest places in Maine. Love it.

Next Installment of Grampa Improvements
Ava and I woke up to a ENLARGED outdoor playroom for her. She is so excited (and I love it too) note the pic of her barking with excitement - guess a still shot doesn't capture that very good.
TRIED to get out in time to take a pic of Dad with ladder in tractor bucket to raise up to get to where he wanted to cut tree branch. He does this covertly so that nobody can see the danger! so hard to capture a shot.

FOCUS
I think I am going to put Pomegranate Inn on the market. BUT,,, I was just reviewing photos for a brochure and it makes me want to keep it forever. BUT,,, I have told myself and finally convinced myself - I think - that I need to FOCUS. I want to really pare down things and concentrate on a few rather than so many. So, that means one inn in Portland, not THREE. And I think that Pomegranate is the inn that would best thrive with an owner in the store. Danforth is much more of a boutique hotel, rather than a Bed & Breakfast so that makes more sense as the one to hold on to. The great thing about Pomegranate is that it would also make a fantastic home for someone.

Landscaping Before Shots
I believe we are now well into the tens of thousands of dollars in landscape work this year.... fortunately, Dad hasn't billed me yet.
We don't get enough before shots to really see the amazing changes so here are some to document the latest, it is going to be beautiful. This is a gorgeous piece of land but has been quite neglected and is now coming back, thanks to Dad and his boy toys. (There is a tractor, chipper and chainsaw going pretty steady :-)

Really??? all this for less than two days?
My clients, on one of my most beautiful listings, made a substantial price reduction on their home yesterday - prompting tons of interest and many showings. TWO of these showings are for clients coming in late Friday for the weekend to look. Now, it seems that Route #3 from the entrance to Acadia all the way to West Street extension is being CLOSED from noon on Friday until noon on Sunday for the Obama visit. The house sits in that stretch. Hmmmm...
Desperate Times....
Call for drastic measures... How sad is it that my life has been totally taken over by little varmints. Since my $6,000 Dacor stove can't be moved and Ava is convinced that there is a village under it... I'm thinking of burning incense in behind there to smoke out the little devils.
The good news is we caught, alive, our first big mouse today so maybe the mommy breeder is gone.... PLEASE.

Mouse Patrol
Ohhhh... Ava and I have a pet. At least one. I thought we caught him with Peanut Butter last week and put him outside but he either came back OR there are friends.
We were up all night - at one point Ava was so intent on the little space between the cabinet and the refrigerator that she didn't even see the little guy running down the cabinet line from the stove and almost ran right into her as he wanted to get in behind the refrigerator.
We have two peanut butter traps out now and will rid them from here today. It is very nice outside so they'll be fine. The only problem is I have explained to the guard several times that they probably won't go into the "trap" with her nose right above the entrance.

Ava and Lyme Disease
Ava tested positive, and despite the looks of this photo - she is showing no symptoms. In fact this was after running around with obviously no lethagy or joint pain. We decided to treat for it regardless. We are more worried about the meds that have an upset tummy side effect. Ave gets a sensitive tummy if you look at her wrong so here's hoping.
