Eagle Lake

Ava and Mom and I managed to sneak in an hour around Eagle Lake today. Felt guilty being away from computer and phone mid day but it beats valium.

Friend for Ava?

I played with a 5 month old dachsund puppy and cuddled him for an hour on Saturday, with friends at Stewman's. He was the sweetest baby and ever since I have been obsessed with getting Ava a puppy. She would either love it or hate it, there wouldn't be an in between. She LOVES to play with Mulligan and Murphy and neither of them want to play.... ohhhhh... what to do.

My little girl...

Mom and Dad wanted to climb Day Mountain - I said "Ava can't do that" (meaning "I can't do that :-) but going up Day is just a long gradual incline carriage road. Ava said if the horses can do it, I can do it. BEAUTIFUL day and views. Dad even brought a little picnic. Only problem, Av wasn't totally into the photo opp on top.

OMG!!! LOOK! So beautiful!!!

Spent the day to Boothbay and back for a meeting. LOOK at what was here when I got home. My birthday present that Dad said he was working on but I guess I kind of forgot because I cried when I came home tonight and saw this. AND Dad, Mom and Ev were here with Ava and Mulligan so saw it all. It is so gorgeous, even more so in real life. So happy, what a gorgeous part of all the new Dad landscaping.

Maineville

Can't stop listening to a few songs on this record. LOVE LOVE LOVE. We are working with Travis on a few things. Really enjoy the great people we meet through Maineville Music. I don't think Aaron and I had any idea where this could all lead. Very blessed.

So, The Best of the Best Awards are being given out at the end of the month and appears that The Swan Agency Sotheby's International Realty has won Best of the Best First Place for Real Estate Agencies and Erica Brooks has won First Place for Best Realtor. Betty Bryer won second place for Realtor.

No more procrastinating....

I think there is a very good chance that more is going to happen in the next four months than has happened all year. We can't say "I'll deal with it after Labor Day" anymore.

Trying to balance choosing new cabinet hardware for upgrading bathrooms at Danforth with understanding a song publishing contract for one song, one artist and the copyrights etc....

Landscaping, by Grampa

So Ava and I started the job... we carried the trowel over.... but Grampa finished it with Mulligan overseeing things. Pretty mums between the garage doors. I need to go get pics of the chipping going on now.

Quite simply, I am blessed....

SO incredibly fortunate to have such amazing people in my life. It was one thing to have three great days with Aaron, chasing our dream, sharing his incredible talent with friends but on top of THAT!!! Ava was home, safe and loved with Grampa and Gam so I could truly enjoy and focus on Maineville. Lucky, lucky girl - I am. both Ava and I are.

Drained of all energy....

Ava is wiped out. It is 82 degrees IN THE HOUSE. This house never gets hot, what a day. The bedroom is not hot because we have the door closed which I guess we could do out here if we really didn't like it...

Alyssa, our awesome summer intern sent me this compilation she made of Jason and Aaron. She was concerned that I needed to smile and reduce stress so reminded me what we have to look forward to next week. FUN! So glad that AB is coming to Maine two days before she goes back to school so she can meet the other half of Maineville.

Grampa Project # 268 of Summer 2010 :-)

OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check this out, Grampa's latest brainchild creation!
We had put lattice on the deck last winter so Ava could go out without a leash. Grampa enlarged it this summer but look now!!! This is amazing. It used to feel like you were in a cage out there, but it was OK because Ava was happy but.... Now, his new invention has it high enough so that Ava can't get out but low enough to see over, be able to water the basil plants and feel open. Easier for Ava to see her friends to bark at too! We are SO happy!

Danforth Billiard Room

New York Times singled out the Billiard Room for a special look. Dad loaned us stuff for the old pool area at their house that looks great. Trying to think what else we can do down there. Love that room.

September 1st

This just keeps getting better and better. Aaron asked Jason Spooner to play with him at The Danforth on September 1st. We are billing it as Aaron's Special Guest Jason Spooner celebrating the debut of his 3rd CD, Sea Monster. I know they'll do some songs together too. It will be like a mini Nashville Unplugged show. Aaron and I, through Maineville, are invested in Jason's CD so we are thrilled to have him be a part of this fun night. Yay! Can't wait.

I love seeing Mr. Buck but then I get stressed trying to get a good photo in focus.

Off to Camden...

Headed to Camden to preview Norumbega Inn and meet Chris, one of our Portland brokers for a file handover. Haven't seen Norumbega for years, Landvest has it for sale and nicely invited us to preview. THEN we are going to pretend we are tourists for an hour or two and have a nice lunch on the water.

Love looking at land that has the remnants of old estates still obvious. This one is where Bogue Chitto used to stand. Its name was "derived from Lousiana Indian Dialect meaning Brook of Shadows" (From Lost Bar Harbor)
