Death of a Kitchen Diva
You need to RUN to get a copy of this book - just out. It is written by Holly and Rick Copp, two of my oldest friends and two of the funniest people on the planet. This is the first of a mystery series based in Bar Harbor - it is hilarious and fun and good twists trying to figure out who dun it. SO SO SO happy for them and when it becomes a tv series you can say you read the book when it first came out!

Need to Save These Little Guys
ARU has a rescue mission under way....this time.. it's baby goats. Sometimes in the Dairy industry ( cattle and goats) when a male baby is born it is killed immediately ether by slamming it into a wall or with a shovel. This time, ARU is here to help! We have struck a deal with a farmer in VT to give us the males born this dairy round (a dairy round is when babies are born twice a year). So Tuesday we are heading to VT to pick up 6 new born baby goats. We need to raise $300 for their bail ($60- ten a piece) , gas $100 ( 8 hour drive in an SUV), food ( $50 for supplement feed) and $90 for building material for their custom built stall with heat! From Breast Cancer to Hungry Pets...

February has truly been the month of love for us as we support some very worthy causes. We are now onto our Pet Food Drive for the MDI Pet Food Pantry. It so often seems so overwhelming to help fix problems and frankly, gets a little depressing. We love our pet food drive because this is a way to make sure that pets who are currently living in loving households can stay there. What a horror it would be to have to give up your baby because you can't afford to feed him or her. Yes, it takes some work but in the big scheme of things this is something we can do to help make sure that a beloved pet doesn't get to a shelter... this is easy - we'll help keep them home where they belong.

East Wind Inn
What a spot, what a spot. Enjoyed meeting with potential new innkeepers at East Wind Inn today and it was a perfect April day - (no that wasn't a mis type) It was gorgeous, we barely needed coats. Ava came along, she has a new love for coming along on rides and I love it. I can focus so much better on what I am doing if I know she is safe and sound and happy. This pic is just a quick iphone snap as we were getting ready to leave of Tenants Harbor. I love it there.

Ava on the road to recovery....
Well Mom, I haven't eaten in 4 days, I have had so many needles sticking in me I can't count. I have been held down for xrays and ultrasounds in Bar Harbor and Portland, I have had times when I was too weak to pick up my head, my poor liver is damaged and you keep sneaking pills and liquids in droppers into my mouth that I hate. And I kinda think I caught you looking at me and thinking I wasn't going to get better a few times, (thanks for that by the way).
WHY do you THINK I am looking like at you like this???
