Smuggler's Cove

I had pretty much given up on Smuggler's as I thought it was leased and then thought we had sold it but am reinspired! The property really is sensational and since Brunswick Inn is selling, our innkeeper there - Barbara - is going to take over the reins at Smuggler's and we are going to make it the place it should be. Can't wait. Oh... too much? What the heck? So much on my plate now what's one more thing?

Extraordinary Listings

What a week, in Portland at high alert time on Danforth project. In the meantime I have to meet Dana in Bath today to list a new property there then to Brunswick to finalize closing issues for Monday then back here to meet Magazine at my new listing as they want to do a story. In the meantime, we have the listing information back on this beauty in Belfast. Check out the owners website at http://www.thewilliamsonhouse.com/.

I wish......

this could be an Inn. I would try everything to have it if so.

Our rocky beach...

Ava took her first walk and exploration of our rocky beach and ocean .... (everyone in the neighborhood owns 1/12 of the lot on the gorgeous cove) It was very cute, quite enchanted by the big rocks. She walked into a big tide pool without even hesitating, I don't know if she didn't see it or what.

We found this sign washed up on the shore with a bunch of other stuff, flotsam? is it called? Kind of a fun sign....

Some interior shots of 161 Pine Street

New Listing in Portland

This is the most amazing 4 unit building right on the corner of Pine and Vaughn in the West End.
I want it sooooo badly. Makes it even more fun to show when you really love something. The apartments are absolutely gorgeous and you can condo it again.

Western Promenade

Forgot how much I love brokerage, and how good I am at it :-)
This beauty is on the corner of Western Promenade and Pine Street in my favorite neighborhood, the West End, in Portland, Maine.
I remember living in a great apartment building right next door in college and running by this house, would I have ever thought I would have the honor of representing it in a sale.
$2,750,000 and worth every penny.

Pomegranate/Swan Agency Video

If you haven't seen this video from Maine Home + Design Television done by my friend, Chris Bohler, check it out. She does a great job.

Danforth this week....

Back in Bar Harbor after another Danforth intense session.

Tuesday night, Beth brought dinner over for John, Richard & Rob, Leslie and me. The inn is ripped apart but it was fun being with people who could see what was to come....
Dee brought subway sandwiches and met David there on Danforth night, Ava got to be a part of things but Kenzie stayed home to avoid Ava's nuttiness!

Danforth Salon

Just finished the design board for the living room - salon - at Danforth. There is a grand piano that will stay and it doesn't have the drapery fabric or the paint color but it is coming. I am so excited. Can't wait for delivery.

Somedays....

John and I were driving to an appointment at a beautiful home on the water in Bar Harbor last week and as we drove down their driveway I pointed at their court and pool and said "I still want to have my own tennis court someday". He responded, "We're running out of somedays....." Wow. That really hit me. When is it time to stop saying someday and start saying now?

Next..........

At Danforth. Met with my friend Sue today who owns a painting company that I love to work with, hopefully they'll be able to get started soon. The carpet quotes are all coming in. John is here and invaluable getting things started. He is also becoming proficient with the baby grand piano and is a wonderful babysitter for Ava - she gets in his lap for naps.
Beth brought Ava a toy, a squeaky stuffed lobster that she LOVED and keeps squeaking!

From Jim McBride and John McVeigh

These are the absolute gorgeous flowers from Jim and John that Jim McBride brought to celebrate the closing of Danforth. So sweet! I didn't do a great job with the lighting on this picture but what an exquisite composition. AND speaking of composition... Jim and John are opening their new store, Compositions, very soon. Can't wait!

Waking up at Pomegranate....

OK, ok - last pics I will post of Ava... not really. But these are so cute....

Danforth First Day

Yawn.............. I am so exhausted. I would say I'm too old for this but if I didn't have a little dog that had to get up before 6 AM I would be fine..... Speaking of little dog - Day 1 at Danforth was a lot of decision making, strategizing etc. but also a lot of little dog attention.

I'm tired.....so is Ava...

Everything closed yesterday. The Danforth is mine and the condo on Congress Street is not. That part makes me sad but that is a part of my life that I really need to move on from and I made a fabulous return on my investment and it was the first property that I really did from scratch. The Maine Home + Design article will make it always be there for me - that photography was sensational.

Now Ava and I need to settle into this next one. I know I need to get some rest before I get to into it. We'll be in Portland all day today working with vendors then tomorrow work on the restaurant concept then I think we'll go home Saturday night, get some rest on Sunday and back down here to Portland on Monday with John to really dig in.

Ava now loves Room 7 at Pomegranate too. She's all snuggled in. Danforth is a little overwhelming for her at this point.

Design Paralysis

Why do I ever think I can just make small changes to something. I am going to post pictures here of the before shots of the living room at the new project. (Hopefully "the project" will start being named on Thursday :0 )
Can't wait to get the afters accomplished and then look back at this and think - wow.
Nothing is done though, have to get over a few more hurdles.

Picture this, whites, creams, blacks and chocolates with splashes of color in the art and botanicals and punches of silver in new chandeliers and objets d'art.

ava hair day

So it is a dreary Saturday morning in Bar Harbor and we are up, of course, before 6. Ava barks at me as I fall back to sleep on the couch. We decide we need to get the hair out of our faces and just do a simple pull back... Then she decides maybe she doesn't like the way it makes her forehead look and tries to scratch it out, note the little tongue coming out of her mouth in the diligence. She's over it already and likes to be able to see.... If I post a picture later that looks like a blur, or the roadrunner - that's her too.... She is a Sagittarius but has an awful lot of Gemini traits...

Ava...

This is a terrible, disheveled pic of me but cute of Ava. Dennis took this the night that we got her. This was right before the long drive from Kennebunkport to Bar Harbor - not the best of my life..... poor thing.

April!!!!

Oh my......... April horoscopes are out on astrologyzone.com... I'm in for a crazy, crazy month but a great one. (I think I knew that..... ) My career is going to go gangbusters - thats good! and I have to do everything this month because Mercury is going retrograde in May and we all know what that means....

So, just wondering. Can I have this inn too???? Talk about a great property for events? Pomegranate Parties could go crazy. We just listed it for $1,595,000. Beautiful, beautiful. I must stop.
