Fodor's Review of Danforth Inn

Danforth Inn Review

New ownership and extensive redecorating have transformed a once-shabby 1823 inn with grandmotherly decor into a stunning showpiece. It stands on a block known in the early 19th century as "Social Corners" for the elaborate parties the owners hosted in what is now the downstairs lounge area. Updated with modern furnishings, the space has a glamorous, Old Hollywood feel: you almost expect a young Elizabeth Taylor to come waltzing through the double doors. The guest rooms are individually decorated with vibrant patterns and original artwork; most have working fireplaces. Room 3, with its semicircle design, bank of windows, and crystal chandelier over the bed, is exquisite.
